Pluot

What is a Pluot? It's a hybrid fruit that is roughly two parts plum and one part apricot, hence the name. We call it fabulous. Pluots come in a wide range of characteristics depending on the hybrid -- they can go from candy-bomb sweet all the way to a mouth-puckering sweet tart.
 
This time we're using the Splash pluots, which has a densely rich, sweet and fruity flavor with a distinct (but not overpowering) tang.  Extremely versatile as a spread, topping or recipe ingredient where the flavor holds up but never overpowers.
